Xiaomi is making waves in the tablet world with their ambitious plans, and their latest device, the Pad 7 Ultra, is going to change the game. This isn't some generic tablet; it's Xiaomi's straight-up move to make it to the very top shelf of the market and challenge the incumbent giants. So, what's all the fuss about?
Powerhouse Performance Meets Stunning Visuals
At the heart of the Pad 7 Ultra is a brand-new chip: the Xiaomi Xring O1 chipset. We're seeing this 3nm chip for the first time, and it's a hefty horsepower with its ten-core CPU and sixteen-core GPU. Imagine silky smooth multitasking and intense games – this tablet seems like it's ready for the job.
However, power would not be complete without a fantastic screen to boot. Xiaomi hasn't compromised on that. The Pad 7 Ultra also boasts a massive 14-inch AMOLED display that seems to hold its own compared to what you'd get on Samsung's flagship tablets. We're talking about a crisp 3200 x 2136 pixel resolution, a bright 120Hz refresh rate for super-smooth scrolling, and a dazzling 1600 nits of peak brightness for HDR content. Surprisingly, there is a small notch on the top edge that houses a 32MP front camera – perfect for those video calls.
More Than Just a Pretty Face
Apart from the display and chip, Xiaomi has also packed in other highlight features. Behind is a competent 50MP camera using Samsung's ISOCELL JN1 sensor. Chugging away at it all is a huge 12,000 mAh battery, and to sum it up, the Pad 7 Ultra supports scorchingly fast 120W wired charging. That is a big plus over much of the high-end tablet competition.
With such power-housed internals, though, the Pad 7 Ultra still has an extremely thin profile that's only 5.1mm thick and weighs just a tasty 609g (add accessories beyond that, naturally).
Accessories and Availability
Xiaomi naturally has accessories to enhance your experience too. You can buy a stylus for art tasks or notes, and a keyboard accessory with a generous trackpad to make it a workhorse.
In the meantime, the Pad 7 Ultra is already up for sale in the original market. It starts at approximately CNY 5,699 ($791) for the one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. If you want something more, you can go all the way up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for approximately CNY 7,399 ($1,027). There has been no official word so far as to whether this stunning tablet will be heading to international markets, but many will be hoping it does.
