Nioh 3 is Team Ninja's next chapter in the critically acclaimed series, and they've lifted the curtain on it. A trailer has been released to coincide with the announcement of the game, giving an exciting first look at what's to come.
Nioh 3's trailer revealed a historical Japanese setting through today's State of Play presentation. Much like in the original Nioh, it seems we will again follow a fixed protagonist, and the gameplay on display promised to be fast-paced and action-packed.
This much isn't just like the original entry, however. Yes, it's still very much the feel of Nioh, but Team Ninja has some pretty major additions up its sleeve this time. Here's what caught our attention:
- A New Way to Fight: In addition to the Samurai fighting style, Nioh 3 will now have another distinctive Ninja style. That's going to give an entire dimension of depth and variety to how you approach encounters.
- Worlds to Explore: Prepare for an even bigger immersive experience The stages are overhauled into open fields that allow players more freedom to explore and engage with their surroundings.
The trailer ended with confirmation that Nioh 3 is set for early 2026, exclusive to PlayStation 5 for now.
Cant wait until 2026 Team Ninja came to the rescue with a playable demo for Nioh 3 out at this precise moment for anyone using PlayStation 5. If previous Nioh demos were anything to go by, this should give players a very solid idea of the mechanics and overall feeling of the final product.
Well, now we know, as Nioh 3 is officially making its way to PlayStation 5 in early 2026. Not much has been said about other platforms that it could launch on, but such speculation is hopeful and could be on point since this release might also reach PCs similar to previous titles in this series. In the meantime, however, PS5 players have a thrilling new adventure to look forward to.
