Lenovo Shows Off 2025 ThinkPad Workstation Line with New GPUs

Lenovo Japan has given us a sneak peek at their 2025 ThinkPad P-series and T-series work stations. The look, shared with ITMedia, shows new models with Intel Arrow Lake processors and the newest NVIDIA mobile workstation GPUs, like the strong RTX Pro 5000.

New Line of 2025 Lenovo ThinkPad P Series Workstation Laptops

The coming line is made to meet a range of work needs, from starter to high-end mobile work stations. Here’s the lowdown on the new models.

Starter: ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 & P16s Gen 6 (Intel)

The Intel versions of the P14s and P16s will have separate NVIDIA GPUs, making them different from their AMD kin.

  • GPU: Up to NVIDIA RTX Pro 1000.
  • TDP: 60W (P14s) to 70W (P16s), much more than the 25W AMD models.

Good Value Power: ThinkPad P16v Gen 3

Set as the low-cost 16-inch choice (v for value), the P16v Gen 3 gives a big power jump.

  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX Pro 2000.
  • TDP: 90W.

High-End Power: ThinkPad P16 Gen 3

The top P16 Gen 3 is made for the hardest jobs, with a high-power setup.

  • Processor: Intel Arrow Lake HX series.
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX Pro 5000.
  • Total TDP: 135W.

High-End & Easy to Carry: ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 & ThinkPad T1g Gen 8

This group has the usual thin P1 model and brings in the T1g, which seems a follow-up to the GeForce-based X1 Extreme.

  • ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 GPU: Sticks to the NVIDIA RTX Pro 2000.
  • ThinkPad T1g Gen 8 GPU: Will have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070.
  • TDP (for the shell): Set at 95W.
  • Weight: The P1 Gen 8 stays easy to carry at under 2kg (about 1.82kg).

Tough and Official Gear

Like past generations, the ThinkPad P series is made to hit U.S. Department of Defense MIL-STD-810H levels, making sure it's very tough. Lenovo also showed off a range of official gear to go with the new work stations.

Docking stations:

  • ThinkPad Universal USB Type-C Dock
  • Lenovo USB Type-C Dual Display Travel Dock

Backpack: ThinkPad Professional 16-inch Backpack

Power Adapter: Lenovo 65W USB Type-C GaN AC Adapter

Keyboards:

  • Lenovo Professional Wireless Rechargeable Keyboard & Mouse
  • ThinkPad Trackpoint Keyboard II

When to Buy

A set sell date for the new Lenovo ThinkPad models isn’t out yet. But, with rivals’ items out now and the year more than half done, their launch should be soon.
