JBL Professional Launches 3 Series MkIII Powered Studio Monitors

JBL Professional has launched the 3 Series MkIII studio monitors, updating its line of powered reference speakers with fresh class D amplifiers and redesigned acoustic drivers. The lineup includes 3 two way monitors alongside a matching 310S MkIII subwoofer delivering bass down to 26 Hz. Units are available globally starting at $199 for the compact 305P MkIII.

The updated monitor line consists of the 305P MkIII pushing 109 dB, the 306P MkIII delivering 112 dB, and the 308P MkIII rated at 113 dB. Class D amplifiers generate between 86 and 300 W across the family, lowering baseline noise and raising output headroom. High frequency playback runs through an updated driver joined to the JBL Image Control waveguide for wider sweet spots and stable stereo placement. Low frequency drivers feature stiffer cones, revised magnetic assemblies, and aluminum rings to minimize harmonic distortion. A front facing JBL Slipstream bass port keeps low frequencies clean when users position speakers close to boundary walls.

Acoustic tuning relies on 4 physical switches on the rear panel that produce 81 distinct equalization settings. This hardware allows producers to adjust high and low frequency response to match room acoustics without running calibration software. Every monitor includes integrated M4 mounting points, enabling installation on desks, walls, ceilings, or dedicated speaker stands. The companion 310S MkIII subwoofer delivers 116 dB peak output, reaches 26 Hz, and includes an adjustable crossover to build out complete 2.1 monitoring systems.

Pricing for the 305P MkIII sits at $199 (€195), while the larger 306P MkIII costs $249 (€245). The flagship 308P MkIII monitor runs $299 (€289). Studio builders needing low end reinforcement can pick up the 310S MkIII subwoofer for $499 (€489).
