Fallout 76 Update Overhauls C.A.M.P. and Combat Gameplay
The Fallout 76 update is an overall overhaul for C.A.M.P. gameplay, with fixes for combat procedures. This update received an extensive overhaul for the C.A.M.P. system of player-built bases, for the purposes of combat balancing, introduction of new features like item-locking, and general changes to the gameplay events.
C.A.M.P. Overhaul More Freedom to Builders
As stated by Game Director Jon Rush, the idea behind the update is to make building in the game easier and more flexible, giving the community a way to take more control. Main changes will be:
- Updated Workshop Menu: The Menu has been reorganized-for example, now lighting is a category with free-standing and wall-mounted lights as subcategories-so that navigation and building can be faster.
- Removal of Building Restrictions: Players will now have the option to snap, intersecting objects, and free placement with so much more freedom. Rush specifically refers to the change as one that acknowledges the "Sky Campers" community.
- Future Building Competitions: In upcoming months, major competitions for C.A.M.P. builders are planned with awesome prizes.
Critical Quality-of-Life and Combat Updates
Other important pieces besides the C.A.M.P. system patched within the game:
- Caravan Event Changes: The event now rewards players if the Brahmin survives, even if the route isn't completed. While the event duration has been capped at a maximum of 7 minutes.
- Item Locking: The introduction of this feature ensures that players never accidentally scrap or sell something that they wish to keep.
- Combat Balancing Changes: The patch has introduced another variety of tweaks to combat, including improvements in:
- Manual aiming experience.
- VATS formula.
- Damage buff to melee and ranged weapons.
- Extra boosts for damage over time.
- Extended weapon ranges.
New Season and TV Show Update
The patch is being rolled out to coincide with the commencement of the new season, in-app named 'Appalachian Modern Living', which is now live. In franchise news, however, one out of the Fallout TV show's season two trailers has dropped, with the release set for December 17.
