Sony Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers Revealed for Gamers

During its recent State of Play broadcast, Sony unveiled another unique audio product the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. Launching the following year, these speakers connect with several devices, including PlayStation 5, PC, Mac, and the PlayStation Portal remote player.

Core Audio Technology

As for core features of Pulse Elevate speakers, these employ studio-inspired planar magnetic drivers, which, according to Sony, are to reproduce very realistic sound characterized by rich full range. Woofer units are further included in these speakers to give an enriching bass tone to the sound for a balanced soundstage. The driver technology should enhance the gaming experience with PS5, utilizing the Tempest 3D AudioTech and providing accurate audio placement in space.

Connectivity and Features

A huge focus regarding the Pulse Elevate speakers is connectivity. PlayStation Link technology is used by Pulse Elevate speakers for ultra-low latency and lossless audio, which is very important in gaming.

  • Simultaneous Audio: Users can listen to in-game audio from a PlayStation Link-connected device (like a PS5 or PC) whilst simultaneously streaming music or taking voice calls from a separate Bluetooth-enabled device.
  • With Built-in Microphone: The right speaker features an integrated microphone enhanced with AI noise rejection to isolate the user's voice from ambient noise for clear communication.
  • Portable: With its own built-in rechargeable battery, the speakers can easily go mobile with a PlayStation Portal (via PlayStation Link) or other mobile products (via Bluetooth).
  • Charging Dock: The whole package comes with a charging dock that can be placed reliably and be powered in a desktop setup.
  • Controls on Board: The speakers feature onboard volume controls, while extra customization for EQ, sidetone, and mic settings will be available through the system menus on PS5 and PC, with Sony suggesting that a post-launch PC update will carry these features.

Release Information

At the moment, there is no price information available from Sony regarding the Pulse Elevate speakers. They will be available in Midnight Black and White colors, with the White version being made in limited quantities. The speakers are expected to release sometime next year.
