Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 by Qualcomm Unveils for Mid-range Smartphones

Qualcomm has recently declared the announcement of the new Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, which is designed primarily for mid-range and budget-friendly smartphones. The processor's blah blah blah delivers substantial improvements in performance and energy efficiency over previous generations, as it comes to 4-nanometer for the first time in 6-series processors' architecture.

Performance and Gaming Improvements

The new chip operates based on an octa-core CPU configuration, of which four high-performance cores can go up to 2.4 GHz and four energy-efficient cores can go up to 1.8 GHz. The performance is thus incredible.

  • Improvements in CPU Performance were 36%.
  • GPU Performance increased by 59%.

Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 comes with support for FHD+ resolution screens with refresh rates of up to 144 Hz for gaming and display. It will also support technologies such as Game Quick Touch and Variable Rate Shading for quicker in-game response and lower latency.

Advanced Camera and Connectivity Features

With the photograph processing capacity of going as high as 200 MP, the processor can also record 2K videos. The possibilities of developing sharper images, especially in low-light conditions, can be made possible with the built-in multi-frame noise reduction (MFNR) technology.

Connectivity-wise, the chip comes with the following features;

  • An integrated 5G Release 16 modem
  • Support for Wi-Fi 6E
  • Bluetooth 5.4

Memory Support and Market Availability

Compatible with all modern memory and storage standards, such as LPDDR5 RAM (up to 3200 MHz) and UFS 3.1, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 will be including.

In the early months of next year, the first smartphones using this new platform will hit the market. According to the first rumors, it seems that OPPO, Xiaomi, and Motorola will be among the first devices to come with the new processor.
