SteamOS 3.7.20 is Now Live
Valve just pushed SteamOS 3.7.20 from beta to the stable channel meaning everyone gets it now. This update brings some behind the scenes driver improvements and important security fixes to the OS as of 2026.
The main thing in this release is the ntsync driver. It should help with synchronization which is good for compatibility and games that need solid thread management at the kernel level.
If youre running SteamOS on something other than a Steam Deck version 3.7.20 is all about security and making the system run smoother. Heres what changed with the InputPlumber dbus interface
- Polkit Support Polkit is now supported for InputPlumber which means extra authorization for managing system inputs
- Race Condition Fixed Theyve fixed a race condition in InputPlumber that could cause the system to crash
- Security Patches Two security issues have been fixed CVE 2025 66005 and CVE 2025 14338
This release makes sure SteamOS is safe from recent security problems and sets the stage for better performance using the ntsync driver. Update your system to get all the latest security fixes.
