Realme 16T Rugged Smartphone Unveiled With Gigantic 8000 mAh Battery Innovative Physical Mirror And Aura Flash Ring Light For Superior Durability And Performance
Realme has unveiled its new rugged smartphone the Realme 16T which not only features innovative battery technology but also combines it with the vintage feature of the early 2000s, namely a physical mirror. At launch in India, it was revealed by Realme that a compact physical mirror can be found at the back next to the primary rear camera array, a feature that can be exploited for taking high quality self portraits with the rear primary camera module instead of its less powerful front facing sibling.
The prime specification is the 8000 mAh battery which is quite large and can power your device for up to 3 days with typical usage according to Realme, with 14.3 hours of gaming or 34 hours of social media. This battery also supports charging speeds up to 45W and is rated for 7 years of usage without a noticeable decrease in battery capacity if you charge it once daily. An internal maintenance system in the smartphone that optimizes its storage and defragments file system while the user sleeps ensures smooth UI performance for at least 6 years.
The front of the phone is occupied by an LCD panel with a 6.8 inch size and 1570x720 pixels resolution. The smartphone has a 144Hz high refresh rate for smoothness along with a peak brightness of 1200 nits. A side mounted fingerprint sensor is included for physical security, integrated into the power button. It comes with an 8 core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor coupled with an Mali G57 MC graphics card for smooth performance in games and tasks. You have two options for the RAM size 6GB and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, whereas storage capacity can be up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
The rear camera setup on the Realme 16T includes a 50MP Sony IMX852 primary camera with an aperture of f/1.8 that excels in low light, and it is complemented by a 2MP monochrome sensor. For taking selfies, you have a 16MP Sony IMX480 front facing camera with an f/2.4 aperture. Video can be recorded at a maximum of 1080p resolution at 60fps on the rear camera and at 1080p at 30fps on the front camera. Special flash in the form of an Aura Flash ring light can be found on the back and offers adjustable light settings, with the physical mirror located beside it for manual framing of selfies.
The device can survive in almost all environments due to its IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, along with MIL STD 810H testing. The phone is scheduled to release first in India starting at ₹29,999 about $313 for the 6GB/128GB variant, followed by ₹31,999 about $333 for the 8GB/128GB version, while the 8GB/256GB top tier model for ₹34,999 about $365. It will eventually roll out to the rest of the world as well.
