Rebellion Developments Launches Complete Empire Earth Trilogy on Steam

Rebellion Developments Expands Distribution by Bringing the Classic Empire Earth Real Time Strategy Trilogy and All Expansion Packs to Steam for New and Old School Players

Rebellion Developments has expanded the distribution of classic PC titles by launching all 3 games in the Empire Earth series on Steam. The real time strategy series was until recently only available to old school players through GOG. This makes the classic games available through yet another major digital distribution service.

The individually launched collection titles include all formerly released expansion packs. The titles are playable in the local area network as multiplayer, although early reports from users on the Steam Portal show that mods built by the community have to be added in order to have stable connections to the internet. The titles are sold as single copies and in a bundle for a 23% launching discount, and are subject to purchase on different regional Steam shops such as Russia.

Empire Earth was first released in 2001 to worldwide acclaim and was popular mostly because of how expansive it was as you could start the game in the prehistoric era as the universe was born and then evolve all the way through to the modern era. In 2005 the sequel to this game was released and met a more lukewarm reception from critics. The franchise ended in 2007 with the release of Empire Earth III and did not meet with many fan favor.
