Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra Launches Featuring Titanium Build Advanced Biomechanical Tracking and Offline Navigation for Ultrarunners
Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra launched with advanced tracking for ultrarunners The Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra has launched as a highly specialized tracking tool for competitive ultramarathon runners and mountain trail runners. Designed for the rugged conditions encountered on the trails, this new smartwatch comes with new wilderness navigation features, as well as deep biomechanical data. This will appeal to athletes looking for a high end sports watch, available from $599.99.
A Grade 5 titanium alloy body, casing, bezel and bezel cap the new Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra, which aims to be extremely resistant to the natural environment. It features a 1.5 inch AMOLED display that reaches a maximum of 3,000 nits and can be easily read under direct, bright sunlight in high altitude areas. The display itself is protected by scratch resistant sapphire glass, while it is also housing a small but bright flashlight which functions both with a white and red LED, complete with SOS functionality. It also offers an “immediate boost” function that increases luminosity to 300 lux.
A dual frequency GPS sensor is backed up with a circularly polarized antenna for accurate location data anywhere. This uses 6 different satellites for accurate tracking, to prevent signal loss in canyons and remote wilderness areas. The software uses an internally based color topographic and contour mapping for detailed and local routes and information to identify terrain and route guidance directly from the wrist. The software will recalculate your navigation path on the watch itself even in completely offline use.
For a focus on trail running, a special mode replaces simply tracking your distance with biomechanical metrics. An altitude graph with elevation profiles can be viewed in real time, as well as a calculated grade adjusted load factor. This factor accounts for both how steep your climb is, as well as how resistance from the ground can affects you giving a truer estimate of physical exertion than just your pace. As well as offering all new running dynamics from the wrist such as pace, posture, running power, ground contact time and lactate threshold, you can also see an estimate of your finish time. The watch will also connect seamlessly with platforms such as Strava, Runna, TrainingPeaks, and Intervals.icu so your training partners or coach can be kept up to date on your progress. With 64GB of built in storage for offline maps and music, a big 1,200mAh battery gives you 33 hours of run time in the main active tracking modes and up to 30 days of battery when just in the regular daily use mode.
