Suno has released its v6 music generation model built alongside major record labels like Warner Music Group, BMG, and Believe. The updated platform brings targeted audio editing, multimodal generation from images or video, and 3 distinct tiers for different creator needs. Free and paid members can access the new engine today before older versions retire completely.
The company split the v6 architecture into 3 separate tools rather than relying on a single engine. The standard Suno v6 model serves Pro and Premier subscribers, delivering fully mastered tracks across any genre. Paid users also get Suno v6 wild, an experimental mode designed for unpredictable riffs and unconventional song structures. Casual users on the free plan get access to Suno v6 mini, which focuses on raw generation speed and lower computational overhead.
Previous versions forced creators to regenerate entire songs when fixing minor mistakes. The v6 release changes that workflow completely. You can now highlight a single verse or musical phrase using natural language prompts to alter specific words without changing the rest of the mix.
Sampling options have expanded as well. Users can now feed images, video clips, or external audio tracks into the system to inspire new arrangements. The software can also extract isolated instrument tracks or blend multiple source files into a single composite mix.
Working with traditional music labels required strict guardrails against intellectual property theft. Suno added real time scanners to check uploaded lyrics and audio against copyrighted databases. To keep working artists happy, the company is building an opt in system that pays royalties to musicians who choose to license their catalog for AI training. Older Suno models will soon be retired as the platform transitions entirely to the v6 ecosystem.
