FiiO DT11 Launches as Portable Android Digital Audio Transport

Unlike a traditional portable music player, the DT11 does not decode or amplify audio on its own. Its sole purpose is to serve as a pure digital transport that routes undisturbed audio data to an external DAC or amplifier combo. Audiophiles can attach it to the back of a phone for on the go listening or set it on a desk as a stationary audio source. FiiO is positioning the unit as a dedicated front end companion for high fidelity mobile rigs.

Under the hood, the transport runs Android 13 on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The 4.7 inch screen keeps the overall footprint compact, making the device easy to handle when bundled with another device. Power comes from a 4000mAh battery that delivers up to 20 hours of continuous playback using the coaxial output. The unit also supports 20W PD fast charging for quick power replenishment.

The port selection on the DT11 focuses entirely on digital purity. The chassis houses an optical output alongside 2 coaxial ports designed for low jitter transmission. You also get 2 Type C ports that support both standard direct connections and a dedicated USB signal cleaner mode. The device can also deliver up to 9W of reverse power output to keep connected dongles or small amplifiers running without draining their own batteries.
