Leaked marketing materials have revealed the core designs and hardware upgrades for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2. The leaked images show new titanium bodies, massive battery increases, and advanced wellness tracking. The official reveal is expected in just 2 days at the Unpacked event this Wednesday.
Well known insider Evan Blass shared the promotional images online. According to the leak, the Galaxy Watch9 runs on a Snapdragon Wear Elite processor. Samsung plans to offer the watch in 3 colors including cream, silver, and graphite. On the software side, the device introduces advanced health tools such as sleep apnea detection, an Energy Score, a Sleep Score, a dedicated Vitals screen, and a virtual running coach.
The premium Galaxy Watch Ultra2 features more substantial hardware changes. The watch body is made of titanium and measures 12% thinner than the original model. Protection is rated at the IP69K standard, allowing the hardware to survive harsh environments. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 5000 nits, which is a big jump from the 3000 nits on the original Ultra.
Battery life also gets a massive boost. The Watch Ultra2 houses an 800 mAh battery, a massive increase over the 590 mAh capacity found in the previous model. Samsung is expected to present both wearable devices alongside its new folding smartphones at the global launch event this week.
