ASUS has released a major update to its DisplayWidget Center monitor management software. The new version introduces AI powered automation, app specific display tweaks, and deeper panel protection controls to replace physical monitor buttons with keyboard and mouse inputs. The software is currently available as a free download for Windows 11 and compatible macOS computers. It is entirely free.
The update brings monitor configuration into the AI agent era through the ASUS Display Control Command Line Interface. Users can change brightness, color profiles, and OLED anti flicker settings by speaking or typing natural language requests. The system can configure multiple screens at the same time or automatically swap display profiles based on your calendar schedule. For enterprise settings, IT managers can deploy the system through tools like Microsoft Intune to adjust screen setups remotely.
A new tool called AI Visual analyzes what is on screen and instantly selects the most appropriate display preset. Gamers also get an AI assistant that suggests ideal refresh rates and FPS settings based on past behavior. Instead of reaching for physical buttons behind the display, players can activate GamePlus and access the main monitor menu using custom keyboard shortcuts or a connected controller. This means you can say goodbye to clunky physical buttons.
For those running OLED monitors, the update packs 4 specific safety tools to fight burn in. These tools include boundary detection, pixel cleaning, and dimming controls to protect the screen panel during long computing sessions. Alongside these protections, App Tweaker lets you assign unique display configurations to specific programs. The software automatically switches color and brightness profiles as you click between your web browser, video editors, and games.
The control software now extends to accessories beyond standard desktop screens. Users can configure spatial layouts on ROG XREAL R1 gaming glasses or manage calibration tools on the ProArt CaliContrO MCA02 color calibrator. Other additions outlined in the ASUS official announcement include automatic screen rotation for ZenScreen displays, macOS keyboard brightness support, and firmware update alerts. Users can also register their hardware using a 1 key tool that automatically reads the device serial number.
