OnePlus has shared the official look and key hardware details for the OnePlus 16 ahead of its official debut. The upcoming flagship packs a massive 9000 mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro silicon, and a 200MP camera system with periscope optics. A full launch event is scheduled for late September.
The exterior keeps the square camera housing seen on earlier generations along with a physical shortcut button on the left edge. Buyers can select from 3 colors called Tomorrow Starlight, Dark Forest, and Martian Masterpiece. The silver Starlight variant features built in illumination behind the glass to light up the company logo and map coordinates.
The front features a flat BOE X4 OLED panel that runs at 165Hz in standard mode and climbs to 185Hz in optimized gaming titles. Processing duties fall to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip. OnePlus added its custom Windspeed gaming software to help sustain peak performance without frame drops.
Power delivery sees a major boost with a 9000 mAh battery that accepts 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Memory starts with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Higher configurations offer 16GB of RAM with 512GB or 1TB of solid state storage space.
The rear camera array uses a 200MP main sensor measuring 1/1.4 inches. That primary lens works alongside a 50MP ultrawide shooter and a 50MP periscope telephoto module built on a 1/1.95 inch sensor. OnePlus plans to reveal remaining details and regional pricing when the phone launches at the end of the month.
