Axiomtek has launched the SDM520L, marking the first Intel Smart Display Module Large with integrated HDMI input and Power over Ethernet support. The compact board runs on Intel Core Ultra 7 and 5 processors with an onboard NPU for localized artificial intelligence workloads. The unit is available now for commercial signage and professional audiovisual setups.
Most digital displays require extra capture cards to handle live external video feeds. The SDM520L eliminates that requirement completely. It includes an HDMI 2.0 input capable of taking in 4K video at 60Hz directly onto the board. This allows live video switching and interactive feeds to run without extra hardware clutter in control rooms or venues. On the visual output side, the integrated Intel Xe LPG graphics deliver 8K content through HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort over USB Type C connections.
Installing display hardware in public areas often creates a mess of power bricks and docking boards. Axiomtek solved this by adding optional Power over Ethernet delivery up to 72W. With this setup, the module can run on its own without needing a separate display docking board. Corrine Lin, a product manager at Axiomtek, highlighted the practical focus of the hardware design.

The board pairs its Meteor Lake U processor with up to 96GB of fast DDR5 5600 memory. Thanks to the built in NPU, digital signage operators can run real time audience analytics and customer tracking right at the edge. Selected models also include Intel vPro support, giving IT teams secure remote access to troubleshoot screens across large display networks.
