A new retro handheld console from AYANEO has made a massive splash at launch. The KONKR Pocket Advance combines a MediaTek Helio G90T processor with a classic 3.5 inch display and active fan cooling. The portable gaming device is currently available in the Chinese market starting at an introductory price of 499 Yuan about 73.95$.
Early sales figures indicate strong demand for the compact console. Official launch reports show that sales have already passed the 12,000 unit mark. Buyers in China can purchase the base model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for 499 Yuan, while the retail price will eventually rise to 699 Yuan. A higher tier model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is also available for an introductory price of 599 Yuan, rising to 799 Yuan later.
The device measures 151.3 by 82.4 by 22 millimeters, making it easy to carry around. On the front, it sports a 3.5 inch LCD screen with a classic 3:2 aspect ratio. The screen resolution of 960 by 640 uses 4x point to point display scaling to output retro games with crisp pixel accuracy. This screen scaling technique aims to recreate original game details without blurry stretching.
Powering the handheld is a MediaTek Helio G90T processor. To manage heat during long gaming sessions, the console incorporates an active cooling system with an internal fan.
