8BitDo has launched a new Twilight Purple edition of its Ultimate 3 Xbox controller. The gamepad features force adjustable TMR joysticks, 2 stage Hall effect triggers, and a bundled wireless charging dock. It is currently available in China starting at 459 yuan.
The fresh finish takes design cues from soft Rococo color palettes. It uses a lavender purple foundation intended to blend daylight hues with soft evening tones. 8BitDo aimed for a subtle, quiet look rather than the loud accents common on third party gamepads. The package also includes a color matched charging stand that powers the controller when placed on a desk.
Internal hardware focuses on durability and precise stick controls. The thumbsticks use force adjustable TMR sensors, allowing players to tweak physical stick resistance based on preference. Trigger inputs rely on 2 stage Hall effect linear sensors, paired with a disc style circular D Pad for fighting games and platformers. 8BitDo also added extra remappable shoulder buttons alongside rear back paddles for custom button layouts.
Connectivity covers PC and console setups with 3 mode support across Bluetooth, wired USB, and 2.4GHz wireless. On PC, the 2.4GHz wireless link delivers a responsive 1000Hz polling rate along with 6 axis motion sensing for gyro control. Power is handled by an internal 1000mAh battery, with the full hardware setup weighing 466 grams including the charging base.
