Acer has updated the Nitro V 16S gaming laptop with an Intel Panther Lake processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics. The new 16 inch machine pushes battery endurance up to 20 hours while offering a fast 180 Hz display. Pricing in the US starts at $2249 for the base configuration.
Under the hood, the laptop swaps out the older Core 9 270H for an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 built on the Panther Lake architecture. Although this chip cuts back on total core and thread counts, real world performance drops by less than 15%. The trade off pays off in power savings. Acer managed to stretch the run time of the 76 Wh battery to 20 hours during video playback. In the MobileMark 30 benchmark test, the machine lasts up to 7 hours before needing a plug.
Buyers can configure the machine with either an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 or a GeForce RTX 5070 running at an 85W power limit. Visuals run on a 16 inch IPS panel featuring a 1920x1200 resolution and a 180 Hz refresh rate. The panel covers 100% of the sRGB color space, making it suitable for gaming and casual creator workloads.
Port options include 3 USB 3.2 ports, 1 Thunderbolt 4 connection, HDMI, and a dedicated Ethernet jack. One of the USB ports allows charging external devices even when the laptop is powered down. You also get a 3.5 mm audio jack, a barrel power port, and a Kensington lock slot.
The entry model with a GeForce RTX 5060, 16 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD starts at $2249 in the US. Stepping up to the GeForce RTX 5070 version with the same memory and storage costs $2807.
