The S11 chip introduces audio processing capabilities aimed at everyday awareness. A tool called Live Rewind displays a text snippet of the last 15 seconds of a conversation after a double press on the Digital Crown. Siri Recap generates brief outlines of meetings and chats to help recall key points later. For hearing accessibility, the watch detects environmental noises like doorbells, alarms, and crying babies without needing an iPhone nearby.
Privacy protections keep these audio tools strictly localized. The S11 silicon houses a dedicated hardware area called Secure Exclave. This isolated block processes audio data locally and deletes it immediately without saving raw recordings. The system excludes bank details and government identification numbers from generated notes, while Live Rewind plays a clear chime and displays a visual indicator when triggered.
Battery charging speeds received a boost across the lineup. A 15 minute charge delivers up to 12 hours of battery power, which is 50% faster than the prior generation. Total battery runtime reaches up to 24 hours during normal use and 10 hours during outdoor workout sessions.
