ASUS Launches ROG Falcata Split Keyboard with HFX V2X Magnetic Switches

Asus has updated its ROG Falcata split gaming keyboard with new ROG HFX V2X magnetic switches. The 75% peripheral features an 8K wireless polling rate, a 4 layer acoustic dampening design, and a dedicated scroll wheel. The board is currently listed in China for 2,649 yuan (roughly $395 USD), with introductory discounts bringing the price down to 2,251.65 yuan (around $335 USD).

The centerpiece of this update is the ROG HFX V2X magnetic switch mechanism. Asus redesigned the stem with a volcano shape and an X style stabilizer structure to eliminate key wobble during fast typing. Each switch features a 3.5mm total travel distance, starting with an initial actuation force of 30gf and bottoming out at 45gf. Competitive players can customize the actuation point down to an ultra fine 0.01mm precision for near instant trigger response.

Beyond the updated switches, the split layout allows gamers to position each half independently for better wrist posture during long gaming sessions. The chassis incorporates 4 layers of sound absorbing foam to soften keystroke noise. Wireless connectivity runs over the proprietary ROG SpeedNova 8K protocol for minimal latency. A detachable silicone wrist pad and programmable buttons round out the hardware package.
