Asus has launched the ROG Thor III 1600W Titanium power supply on JD com in China for 5999 yuan, which converts to roughly $830. The unit packs Gallium Nitride internals, a detachable magnetic OLED screen for power monitoring, and a 10 year warranty. It also complies with the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards to handle high draw graphics cards.
The power unit measures 190 by 150 by 86 millimeters and weighs 2.5 kilograms. One of its standout hardware features is the magnetic OLED display. You can detach this screen and mount it anywhere inside or outside your chassis using the supplied USB C extension cable. This allows builders to check live wattage numbers without craning their necks into the PC case.
Under the hood, Asus switched to Gallium Nitride technology to achieve an 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency rating. The internal board uses premium Japanese capacitors and dual ball bearing fans to keep thermals low. To protect high end hardware, the package includes a PCIe 16 pin cable designed to prevent melting under heavy loads. There is also a proprietary GPU FIRST voltage stabilization system. By connecting a purple 2 pin sensor cable directly to the graphics card, the power supply can stabilize voltage drops 45% faster than standard units.
Safety circuitry covers every standard defense, including protections against over power, over voltage, under voltage, short circuits, over current, and overheating. The unit is currently on sale through Chinese retail channels for 5999 yuan or about $830, backed by a full 10 year warranty. Global availability and international pricing have yet to be confirmed.
