DFI Announces ARH171 and ARH173 Industrial Mini ITX Boards

DFI has launched the ARH171 and ARH173 industrial Mini ITX motherboards featuring support for 2 distinct generations of Intel mobile silicon. The hardware accommodates 16 different processor choices across the Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake lineups for edge computing and automation. Pricing and specific regional rollouts depend on custom hardware orders.

Industrial hardware usually locks buyers into a single chip generation. DFI is taking a different approach here. The new dual generation design lets system builders choose between Meteor Lake U and H series chips or newer Arrow Lake U and H series options. This wide choice of 16 mobile processors gives engineers the flexibility to balance power draw against computational needs without redesigning their physical enclosures.

Running artificial intelligence tasks at the edge requires serious hardware support. The onboard processors provide heterogeneous computing capabilities to handle local AI workloads directly on factory floors and remote installations. Power delivery is tailored for harsh industrial setups with a wide voltage direct current input ranging from 12 to 28V. This broad electrical range helps protect sensitive equipment against power fluctuations in factory environments.

Connectivity is another strong point for these compact boards. DFI packed in support for 4 independent display outputs alongside up to 3 high speed 2.5GbE ethernet ports for fast network communication. System builders can expand board functionality through dedicated M.2 slots for extra storage or wireless modules. DFI also offers an optional out of band management module to help administrators monitor and repair devices remotely even when the operating system is unresponsive.
