Fujitsu is preparing to export its 2nm Arm processor, known as Monaka, to Asian and American markets as early as 2027. The company is pitching the silicon directly to enterprise AI server clients, moving away from internal only designs like the older A64FX. A report from Nikkei Asia confirms that over 40 global firms are currently in talks to adopt the platform.
Fujitsu laid the groundwork for this global rollout back in 2024 through a development partnership with Supermicro. Unlike the custom chips developed strictly for the Fugaku supercomputer, Monaka is designed as an open commercial product. 24 companies across the financial and telecommunications sectors have already tested early systems. The next phase targets major cloud service providers in the United States to secure large volume contracts.
The financial targets for this expansion are ambitious. Fujitsu wants to reach 250,000,000,000 yen (approx. $1.63 billion USD) in cumulative processor sales by fiscal year 2030. Achieving that goal requires shipping roughly 60,000 dedicated AI server units into foreign data centers. If successful, this export push will establish Japan as a direct supplier of cutting edge 2nm data center silicon in a market heavily dominated by American and Taiwanese competitors.
