Honor has opened blind preorders for its upcoming compact gaming tablet under the WIN brand. The portable slate features the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor alongside an integrated active cooling fan. However, official pricing and release schedules remain under wraps.
Lin Lin, head of the Smart Life business division at Honor, confirmed the project on Chinese social media. The company is positioning this compact tablet as a dedicated performance machine designed for sustained mobile gaming sessions. Mobile processors often throttle quickly under heavy gaming loads, which makes the inclusion of a dedicated physical fan a rare hardware choice for a compact slate.
While Honor has kept the rest of the spec sheet quiet, leaks have filled in several blanks. Well known industry insider Digital Chat Station revealed that Honor has been testing an 8 inch OLED screen for this hardware. That display reportedly sports ultra high refresh rates and razor thin borders. The insider suggested the final product could hit store shelves carrying the WIN Pad mini moniker.
Small tablets with flagship silicon remain a rarity in the Android space. Most brands push buyers toward 11 inch or larger screens. By combining an 8 inch form factor with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and active cooling, Honor is aiming directly at mobile gamers who want top tier performance in a portable chassis.
