Lenovo has expanded its commercial laptop lineup with the ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 and the lightweight ThinkBook 14x Gen 2. Alongside the 2 retail laptops, the company showcased Project AeroBlade, an Intel powered concept that drops laptop thickness below 10 millimeters using solid state cooling. The new devices push battery runtimes and local artificial intelligence across both Snapdragon and Intel architectures.
ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 Brings 80 TOPS AI Performance
The ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 targets workers who need heavy local artificial intelligence processing without relying on cloud servers. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus silicon, which delivers 80 TOPS of dedicated neural processing power. Up front, the laptop features a 14 inch WUXGA display outputting 400 nits of brightness with optional touch support. The chassis measures 17.7 millimeters thick and starts at a base weight of 1.3 kilograms.
Battery longevity is a standout feature for this model. Lenovo rates the machine for up to 26 hours of local video playback on a full charge. The software package integrates Copilot plus PC tools alongside Lenovo Qira, which provides real time meeting assistance through prompts like Catch Me Up and Pay Attention.
Pricing & Availability: The Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 will be available starting October 2026, with an expected starting price of €1,099.
ThinkBook 14x Gen 2 Focuses on Thin Profile and Intel Series 3 Chips
If portability is the main requirement, the ThinkBook 14x Gen 2 strips away excess bulk. The laptop measures only 12.9 millimeters thick and weighs just 990 grams, positioning it as one of the lightest commercial notebooks on the market. Power comes from Intel Core 7 Series 3 processors, making it suitable for multitasking, web work, and remote collaboration.
Buyers can configure the machine with high resolution OLED displays or touch enabled LCD panels. Lenovo is offering the metal chassis in 4 distinct colors, including Luna Grey, Celestial White, Mystic Violet, and Veil Blue.
Pricing & Availability: The Lenovo ThinkBook 14x Gen 2 will be available starting September 2026, with an expected starting price of €1,079 ($999.99 in the US).
Project AeroBlade Replaces Cooling Fans with Frore AirJet Tech
Lenovo also demonstrated Project AeroBlade, an ultra portable proof of concept laptop built in collaboration with Frore Systems. The 14 inch machine measures under 10 millimeters thick and weighs under 830 grams. It completely removes mechanical cooling fans in favor of Active Flow, a solid state thermal architecture powered by AirJet technology.
By eliminating rotating fan blades, the design prevents internal dust accumulation and removes fan noise entirely while maintaining sustained Intel processor output. The chassis uses magnesium aluminum materials and features an OLED display, Wi Fi 7 networking, and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.
