Meta has released its new AI agent app called Muse, and it climbed to the top of the iOS download charts within 2 weeks of launch. The software quickly bypassed established rivals like ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok, sparking fresh optimism around agent tools and driving chip stocks higher. But financial analysts warn that data privacy questions could still present challenges as user adoption expands.
The swift rise of Muse triggered an immediate rally across hardware and silicon markets. Meta stock climbed over 11% to reach $741.25, hitting its highest price point in 11 months. Semiconductor makers experienced even stronger momentum. Arm shares jumped 17%, while Intel and AMD each rose roughly 10% as investors anticipated higher processing demands for consumer agent tasks.
Data reported by CNBC from analytics firm Sensor Tower confirmed that Muse overtook ChatGPT to secure the number 1 free app ranking on the US iOS store. The application gathered 730,000 installs within its first 5 days on the market. Total downloads soon surpassed 2,500,000, with iOS representing 1,500,000 installs and Android delivering 1,100,000.
Over a 13 day release period, Muse outpaced several competing assistants. Claude generated 400,000 downloads while Grok recorded 200,000 over the same span. Market intelligence provider Apptopia also discovered that daily active users for Muse are currently pacing ahead of early benchmark numbers set by ChatGPT.
Most previous automated tools focused on corporate environments rather than consumer devices. Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon pointed out that Muse has the potential to bring AI agent services to everyday users, though personal security concerns remain an important factor to monitor. The basic version of Muse remains free to use, but Meta is also offering paid tiers priced at $20 and $100 per month depending on total token consumption.
