Montage Technology has started mass production of its generation 5 DDR5 registering clock driver chip, designated RCD05. Built for enterprise data centers and AI hardware, the component pushes memory transfer speeds up to 8000 MT/s while complying with official JEDEC standards. The jump represents an 11% speed boost over the previous generation.
Modern server clusters require clean signal paths to stop data errors. Speed is everything in AI computing. To handle high frequency demands, the RCD05 uses a low jitter phase locked loop clock driver circuit. This setup ensures that memory channels stay synchronized under sustained server operations.
Signal integrity remains a constant battle at these speeds. The new silicon incorporates continuous time linear equalization and ZQ calibration tools to stabilize high velocity data transfers. These mechanisms correct signal degradation before it causes calculation errors on DDR5 RDIMM modules. The result is higher operational stability for workloads that run across multiple memory channels simultaneously.
Montage Technology is targeting the hardware directly at cloud operators and AI server manufacturers who need expanded bandwidth for large computational models. The RCD05 is part of a wider enterprise memory lineup from the company. Their component catalog also includes MRCD and MDB parts for multiplexed setups, client CKD chips, power management controllers, and precision temperature sensors.
Hardware makers can now order the RCD05 in commercial volume. That barrier is now gone. Server builders can integrate the driver directly into production grade DDR5 RDIMM designs without waiting on experimental test silicon.
