OnePlus is preparing a massive hardware upgrade for its next generation flagship phone. According to recent supply chain leaks on Weibo, the upcoming OnePlus 16 will feature a giant 9000mAh battery alongside a 200MP primary camera and high refresh rate displays. The device aims to deliver top tier battery life and gaming performance across the flagship category.
Details shared by prominent tech leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo indicate that the 9000mAh battery specification is now locked in for production. This represents the largest battery cell seen in the upcoming generation of flagship devices. OnePlus is pairing this cell with custom OPPO power management silicon to handle low voltage discharge efficiently. This specialized chip helps prevent battery capacity locking issues over time, ensuring the cell maintains healthy output across extended usage cycles.
Gaming capabilities represent another core focus for this new phone. The screen provides a native 165Hz hardware level refresh rate across the system, with dedicated gaming modes capable of hitting 185Hz in supported titles. OnePlus China president Louis Li confirmed that the flagship will debut 3 exclusive gaming technologies. These include an upgraded Fengchi gaming kernel and a dedicated esports triple chip architecture engineered to sustain high frame rates without overheating. Processing duties will be handled by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen6 processor.
The imaging system is also receiving a substantial revision based on reports cited by IT Home. The primary camera relies on a large 200MP sensor measuring 1/1.4 inches for high detail photography. For zoom capabilities, the phone includes a 50MP Sony periscope telephoto camera with 3X optical magnification on a 1/1.95 inch sensor. A fresh 50MP ultra wide lens rounds out the rear camera module, giving users complete focal coverage without adding unnecessary bulk to the back glass.
