PELADN has launched the WO5 304, a pocket sized mini PC running on an Intel Core 3 processor 304 with 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 512GB solid state drive. Packing dual M.2 expansion slots and a fast 40Gbps USB C port, the small desktop is currently selling on Chinese retail platforms for 2599 yuan, which converts to roughly $365 USD.
The entire system measures only 116 by 106 by 37.5 millimeters and weighs 310 grams. That makes it easy to slip into a backpack. To handle heat inside the small shell, PELADN installed a cooling setup with dual copper heat pipes and a blower fan. The 12GB of LPDDR5 system memory is soldered onto the board, so you cannot upgrade it later. Storage is a different story. You get 2 M.2 2280 slots wired for PCIe Gen4 x2 speeds, letting you pop in extra solid state drives when you run out of space.
Connectivity is surprisingly generous for a box this small. On the front and back panels, you find 1 full function USB C port running at 40Gbps, 3 USB A ports at 10Gbps, and 1 older USB A port at 480Mbps for simple peripherals. Dual HDMI 2.0 outputs let you hook up 2 external monitors at the same time. You also get a single 2.5GbE RJ45 port for fast wired internet and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless duties are covered by a modern card supporting Wi Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
