Phanteks has launched the EX5 PLUS and EX5 MAX, two desktop enclosures featuring an unusual multi chamber thermal design. Both cases come bundled with a custom 360mm liquid cooler and separate compartments for critical internal hardware. Prices start at 1099 yuan in China, with retail availability starting in a matter of days.
The defining feature of the EX5 series is its physical separation of key heat sources. Rather than housing all components inside 1 shared space, Phanteks isolates the motherboard, graphics card, power supply, and processor cooling into distinct zones. Transparent panels give a clean look into the motherboard and GPU compartments. This divided structure increases natural air intake across core components while reducing reliance on extra case fans.
Internal space requires close attention due to the segregated layout. Both enclosures accommodate standard ATX motherboards and power supplies up to 210 millimeters in length. Graphics card dimensions are restricted to 258 millimeters in length and 93 millimeters in width, while air coolers cannot exceed 72 millimeters in height. Drive storage consists of 1 bay for a 3.5 inch drive and 1 mount for a 2.5 inch solid state drive. Front connectivity offers 1 fast USB C port running at 20Gbps alongside 2 USB A ports rated for 5Gbps.
Every case includes a factory bundled S25 360 ARGB liquid cooler to handle processor heat out of the box. The unit uses a 90 degree tube outlet design to save internal clearance and features unified ARGB fans. The higher tier EX5 MAX also adds a 6 inch IPS LCD display with dedicated onboard DRAM built right into the frame. The base EX5 PLUS costs 1,099 yuan (approx. $164 USD), while the upgraded EX5 MAX sells for 1,699 yuan (approx. $253 USD) on official ecommerce platforms.
