POCO has expanded its smartphone lineup with the official launch of the POCO X8 Power. The new device packs a record breaking 10,000 mAh silicon carbon battery and heavy duty body protection into a mid range chassis. It is currently available in India starting at ₹35,999 approximately $380 with international availability yet to be confirmed.
The main draw of this phone is its massive battery capacity. POCO built the pack using a silicon carbon blend with 16% silicon content to keep the overall thickness manageable. Recharging is handled by 100W wired fast charging, which the company claims can supply a full day of normal use in about 20 minutes. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging to power up accessories on the go. Long term durability looks promising, with the brand rating the pack to keep 80% of its health after 1600 charge cycles, representing roughly 6 years of daily charging.
Durability is not limited to battery chemistry. The phone carries 4 separate ingress ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, making it capable of surviving high pressure water jets and full submersion. The front features a 6.83 inch AMOLED screen pushing 2772x1280 resolution at 120Hz with a peak brightness of 3200 nits. The panel supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 3840Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye fatigue in dark rooms. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the glass against drops, and touch input still functions reliably when your fingers are wet.
Under the hood, Qualcomm supplies the processing power via the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip. The setup pairs with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and your choice of 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. On the software side, the device runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The camera island includes a 50MP primary sensor capable of 4K video recording, backed by an 8MP ultra wide lens. Selfies and video calls rely on a 32MP front shooter, while audio playback runs through stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos. Wireless connectivity includes 5G, Wi Fi 5, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC.
Retail pricing in India starts at ₹35,999 roughly $380 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Stepping up to the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage tier raises the price to ₹38,999 around $413. POCO has not yet shared release dates or pricing details for other global regions.
