vivo has announced the Y600i, an affordable handset built around a massive 8000mAh battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 silicon. The phone brings IP68 and IP69 water ingress resistance alongside a fluid 120Hz display. Pricing in China starts at 1699 yuan, which converts to roughly $253 USD.
Battery longevity is the main attraction on this device. That huge 8000mAh cell outlasts nearly every competitor in the budget bracket right now. Recharging happens at up to 44W speeds using the included wall brick. For daily tasks, the phone relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 mobile platform. Memory configurations include 6GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of storage space. vivo also kept the physical infrared blaster, letting you use the phone to operate household appliances like air conditioners and televisions.
Up front sits a 6.87 inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1592x720 pixels. The screen runs at a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and reaches peak brightness levels of 1300 nits, which helps when viewing the display outdoors. Biometric security uses a side capacitive fingerprint reader rather than an in screen sensor. The camera setup includes an 8MP shooter on the front and a 50MP sensor on the back for everyday photos.
vivo secured both IP68 and IP69 ratings for the chassis. This level of protection guards the internals against deep water submersion as well as high pressure hot water jets. Buyers can choose between black, blue, and a sparkly starry finish. Total weight comes in at 229g for the solid paint options and 230g for the starry variant.
Orders are open in China before shipments arrive in stores later this month. The entry model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage sells for 1699 yuan, translating to roughly $253 USD. Stepping up to the 6GB RAM and 256GB storage tier brings the price to 1999 yuan, which is about $298 USD. International rollout plans have not been confirmed yet.
