Xiaomi has revealed the Xiaomi 18 Fold, debuting an entirely new mid fold form factor for mobile power users. The device pairs an in house Xring O3 processor with a 6000mAh silicon battery and a Leica triple camera array. Pricing in China starts at 10999 yuan for the base configuration, reaching 15999 yuan for a limited ceramic release.
Xiaomi founder Lei Jun positioned the release as the most premium smartphone in company history, resulting from 20 months of dedicated development. The hardware targets a middle ground between pocket clamshells and full size book style foldables. Both the 5.38 inch cover screen and the 7.58 inch inner folding screen adopt a standard paper proportion of roughly square root 2 to 1. This geometry eliminates black bars during video playback and matches the visual layout of printed books.
This proportion feels completely natural. You can read just like holding a real book, watch videos without cropping the picture, and review documents without zooming in.
The displays support LTPO adaptive refresh rates scaling from 1 to 120Hz alongside a peak brightness of 4000 nits. Folded closed, the chassis measures 10.68 millimeters thick, opening up to an ultra thin 5.02 millimeters. Total weight lands at 219 grams. Structural drop resistance up to 1.2 meters is reinforced by a redesigned Dragon Bone hinge, a Series 7 aluminum midframe, Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0, and dual layer ultra thin flexible glass.
Internal performance is driven by the Xring O3 flagship processor, which scored over 5,000,000 points in benchmark testing. Multi core CPU processing increases by 60% while low load energy usage drops by 25%. Graphics processing sees an 85% boost with power draw falling by 64%. The custom NPU delivers 200 TOPS of tensor calculation power to run the Super Xiao AI system, which lets users operate up to 6 split screen application windows simultaneously.
Memory technology takes a notable step forward through an engineering partnership with CXMT. The Xiaomi 18 Fold is the first commercial smartphone to implement domestic mass production LPDDR6 memory. This memory architecture delivers ultra fast read speeds while cutting down on background power consumption.
The camera system continues the engineering collaboration with Leica across 3 focal lengths. The primary shooter packs a 200MP sensor, accompanied by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens capable of 3.5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultra wide angle unit. Power is supplied by a 6000mAh dual stack battery boasting 20% silicon content and an energy density of 920 watt hours per liter. Charging is handled by 67W wired and 50W wireless speeds.

Moving to 512GB of storage costs 11999 yuan with 12GB RAM, or 12999 yuan with 16GB RAM. The 16GB RAM and 1TB LPDDR6 storage option is priced at 14999 yuan. A collector grade Ceramic Special Edition made from silicon nitride ceramic is capped at 1500 units worldwide and priced at 15999 yuan.
