Xiaomi is officially bringing its electric vehicles to Europe starting in 2027. The company announced the expansion during IFA 2026 in Berlin after signing retail agreements with 8 major German dealer networks. The move sets the stage for a major showdown with legacy European carmakers and established Chinese rivals.
Instead of waiting for cars to arrive on European soil, Xiaomi wants its retail and service foundation built early. The company secured partnerships with 8 established automotive groups across Germany. These partners include Ernst Dello, Autohaus Dinnebier, Emil Frey Germany, Fett & Wirtz, Hahn Automobile, LUEG Mobility, Penske Jacobs Innovation, and SPT Avior. Xiaomi has also opened an operational hub in Munich to oversee regional activities. Setting up distribution channels ahead of vehicle shipments helps avoid the customer support bottlenecks that often trouble incoming foreign brands.
Xiaomi enters the global arena backed by massive delivery volume in its domestic market. Total electric vehicle deliveries have already crossed 700,000 units. Its flagship SU7 sedan reached 500,000 shipments within 28.5 months of entering production. The newer YU7 crossover saw equally fierce demand, generating over 240,000 customer orders during its first 18 hours on sale. Translating that domestic momentum to European roads will be a test of consumer trust, but Xiaomi is betting that aggressive pricing and existing brand recognition will win buyers over.
