XMG and Schenker have bumped up starting prices across most of their gaming and workstation laptop lineup. Soaring manufacturing costs for memory, processor silicon, and air freight forced base prices up by 100 to 300 euros. But a few budget and office machines managed to avoid the price jump.
The price adjustments were confirmed in a Reddit community update by an official company representative on the bestware retail platform. Component prices are hitting the entire PC hardware industry hard. Memory chips are the biggest problem, with laptop DDR5 memory modules costing roughly 6x what they did last year. Processor manufacturers like Intel and AMD have also raised pricing on mobile silicon, while newer GDDR7 video memory and printed circuit boards add even more expenses to every build.
Most affected laptops see starting price increases between 100 and 150 euros. The Schenker Key 18 Pro took the hardest hit with a 300 euro price jump, while the Apex 16 saw an increase of 200 euros. Upgrading to a top tier Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 mobile graphics card now costs an extra 120 euros on multiple systems. Laptop lines like the XMG Evo, Schenker Connect, Element, and Schenker Work are not part of this round and keep their original pricing.
XMG stated that these price adjustments only pass along upstream production expenses rather than expanding profit margins. Higher air freight costs caused by international shipping disruptions have pushed logistics expenses even higher for goods traveling from Asia to Europe. Industry analysts at TrendForce and chipmakers like Micron warn that tight component supplies will stretch well into 2027. Buyers looking for relief will likely have to wait for promotional discount events scheduled later in November.
