Acer has released the Predator Atlas 8, an 8 inch Windows 11 handheld gaming PC powered by Intel Arc G3 Extreme silicon. The device brings premium hardware to the portable PC market, including drift resistant TMR sticks, 24 GB of RAM, and dual mode triggers. The United States model retails for $1299.99, and the initial wave of preorders has already sold out.
Acer equips the device with the Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and integrated Arc B390 graphics. The system runs Windows 11, giving players direct access to standard PC storefronts and Xbox Game Pass libraries. Visuals run through an 8 inch touchscreen offering 1920x1200 resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and variable refresh rate technology to smooth out frame pacing. Internal memory sits at 24 GB of fast LPDDR5X RAM, paired with a 512 GB solid state drive.
Acer uses drift resistant TMR thumbsticks alongside dual mode triggers. Players can switch these triggers to a short travel microswitch click for competitive shooters, or keep the full analog travel with Hall effect sensors for racing simulators. Inside, an 80 Wh battery provides power. Thermal control relies on 2 separate fans. 1 fan uses standard plastic, while the custom AeroBlade fan uses metal with 89 blades measuring 0.1 millimeters thick. Acer claims this metal design boosts airflow by up to 10% over plastic alternatives.
The system functions as a desktop PC replacement through 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports that support video output and external gear. Physical connectivity also includes a microSD UHS II slot and a 3.5 millimeter audio port. Wireless connectivity features Wi Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Acer priced the configuration with 24 GB RAM and 512 GB storage at $1299.99 in the United States, confirming that the first production run sold out immediately.
