JBL has expanded its personal audio lineup with the Tourmaline Red Special Edition of the JBL CLIPS open ear earbuds. The model features a translucent casing, 11mm dynamic drivers, and SonicArc directional sound technology to minimize audio leakage. The earbuds are available now in China for an introductory price of 1346 yuan (roughly $186 USD), with regional subsidies lowering the cost to 949 yuan ($131 USD).
Both the earbuds and the charging case feature a translucent finish. Audio reproduction relies on 11mm custom dynamic drivers equipped with a dual layer titanium coated diaphragm. To protect user privacy during calls and listening sessions, the acoustic setup uses SonicArc directional sound transmission to focus audio directly toward the ear canal and prevent nearby individuals from overhearing playback.
Each earbud weighs 6.5g and uses a flexible C shaped bridge finished in soft TPU material to fit various ear shapes securely. An IP54 rating protects the hardware against dust ingress and water splashes. Voice capture relies on 4 internal microphones backed by AI call noise reduction and environmental noise cancellation algorithms, with further calibration options accessible through the official smartphone app.
The earbuds deliver up to 8 hours of continuous audio playback on a single charge. Pairing the earbuds with the included charging case brings total operational time up to 24 hours before the battery requires another charge.
