Nvidia Denies RTX 5090 Cancellation Rumors and Pledges Continued Supply

Nvidia has officially dismissed industry rumors alleging the cancellation of the GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. Speaking at an RTX Spark gathering in Taipei, senior vice president Jeff Fisher confirmed that the flagship product remains an active priority and will continue shipping to retail partners. Current manufacturing limits continue to restrict inventory across global markets.

The executive response addresses online claims that Nvidia stopped silicon allocation for its top gaming card. Industry leaker MEGAsizeGPU previously suggested that Nvidia redirected GB202 chips away from consumer gaming boards toward professional RTX PRO hardware, sparking rumors of a 24GB RTX 5080 intended to take its place. Fisher rejected those claims directly, though he acknowledged that component production limits are slowing down shipments to store shelves.

Widespread inventory shortages accelerated public speculation about the lifecycle of the card. Industry reporting from Toms Hardware pointed out that major American retailer Micro Center listed the RTX 5090 as not carried, alongside out of stock notices at other digital storefronts. Temporary store scarcity does not represent an official factory cancellation, as component inventory levels regularly swing during production bottlenecks.

Fisher pointed to the gaming hardware division as the foundational driver of the entire company business model. GeForce development accelerated the early rollout of the CUDA computing architecture, which ultimately provided the engineering baseline required for the current artificial intelligence market. Nvidia maintains that consumer graphics cards remain central to its corporate hardware strategy.
