SUNEAST Enters Enterprise Market with SERVER PRO 5000 SATA SSD Series

Japanese manufacturer SUNEAST has entered the data center storage segment with its first enterprise solid state drive lineup, the SERVER PRO 5000 series. The 2.5 inch drives use SATA III interfaces and 3D TLC NAND flash memory across 5 different storage sizes. Hardware sampling is scheduled to start in November, targeting entry level server infrastructure.

SUNEAST builds the SERVER PRO 5000 series in 240GB, 480GB, 960GB, 1920GB, and 3840GB capacities. All 5 configurations rely on 3D TLC NAND flash and carry a 5 year endurance rating at 1 DWPD, allowing users to rewrite the entire capacity of the drive once per day over 5 years. Reliability metrics include a mean time between failures rating of 2,000,000 hours and an uncorrectable bit error rate of 1 sector per 10 to the 17th power bits read.

The SATA III interface caps top sequential throughput at 536 MB/s for reads and 505 MB/s for writes. Random data performance reaches up to 96K IOPS for read operations and 48K IOPS for write operations. These speeds saturate the limits of the legacy 6Gbps SATA standard, positioning the hardware as a drop in replacement for existing enterprise storage racks that require reliable 2.5 inch drive bays without moving to costlier NVMe infrastructure.
