Acer Appoints New Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer

Acer has restructured its senior leadership team with immediate effect, appointing new heads for global operations and engineering. The company board of directors selected Bo Zhanping as Chief Operating Officer and Xu Ruiqing as Chief Technology Officer, relieving Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jason Chen of his concurrent operations title. Both executives are long time company veterans appointed to manage worldwide computer production and platform innovation.

Bo Zhanping takes over global management of personal computer business operations. Bo joined Acer in 2005 and previously served as general manager of Acer Being Communication. He holds a master degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. His background includes direct management of electronic component supply chain planning, procurement strategy, and new business expansion, with his new role focusing on cross department operational efficiency.

Xu Ruiqing assumes the position of Chief Technology Officer, reporting directly to Jason Chen. Xu will oversee international technical development strategy, platform consolidation, and product innovation. He entered Acer in 2003 and holds 28 years of engineering experience across the information and communications technology sector. Xu earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from National Cheng Kung University and previously led platform technology development across the company hardware teams.
