Apple iPhone 18 Leak Points to 120 Hz Display and 2 nm A20 Chip

Apple is preparing the iPhone 18 alongside 2 companion models for an anticipated release in early 2027. Leaks indicate the base model will step up to a 120 Hz OLED screen and a 2 nm A20 processor, accompanied by a projected retail price bump. Industry insider Digital Chat Station reports that the lineup will also include a budget iPhone 18e and an ultra thin iPhone Air 2.

Digital Chat Station reports that the base iPhone 18 shifts to a 6.3 inch OLED panel featuring 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The top display cutout keeps the Dynamic Island layout alongside Face ID sensors. Apple builds this model around the new A20 processor manufactured on a 2 nm fabrication node. The rear camera configuration pairs a 48 MP main sensor with a secondary lens, supported by a larger internal battery. These hardware improvements are expected to push the entry retail price higher than previous generations.

The leak outlines 2 additional devices planned for the same release window. The entry tier iPhone 18e features a 6.12 inch OLED screen locked at 60 Hz, running on the standard A20 chip with a 48 MP rear sensor and a 24 MP selfie camera. The second generation iPhone Air 2 adopts an ultra slim 5.2 millimeter chassis. This thin variant includes a 6.55 inch 1.5K screen at 120 Hz, dual 48 MP cameras, an A20 Pro processor, an N2 wireless chip, and a custom C2 modem. Current supply chain projections point to an official launch window in early 2027.
