Apple Reports Record Q4 Revenue Driven by iPhone Sales

Apple set a revenue record for the September quarter with iPhone sales reaching $57.58 billion, up 17% year over year. The performance pushed total quarterly revenue to $114.5 billion despite higher retail prices and limited availability of the foldable iPhone Duo. Full year revenue closed at $479 billion as the company enters the final stretch of the calendar year.

iPhone sales generated the bulk of overall gains across the quarter. Mac hardware revenue climbed 24% to reach $10.79 billion, showing strong consumer uptake across updated models. iPad sales fell 10% to $6.23 billion over the same period. Total net profit for the quarter reached $30.71 billion, bringing companywide revenue growth to 12% across all hardware and services categories.

Apple increased internal spending on technology development throughout the fiscal year. Total research and development costs reached $45.77 billion, representing a 32% rise over 2025 spending levels. The final quarter alone accounted for $11.73 billion of that total as engineering teams worked through supply bottlenecks and manufacturing processes for new hardware form factors.

Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh outlined projections for the upcoming holiday shopping period during the financial earnings call. Parekh stated that company revenue is expected to grow between 7% and 10% year over year, which would set an all time corporate record. The company noted that component price increases and tight production supplies for the iPhone Duo remain limiting factors for overall profit margins.
