ASUS XG Core graphics dock was first revealed at Gamescom 2026, bringing an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT LP into a compact external form factor. The unit connects via USB4 and provides video output through HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort connections. But new company data reveals a tight 75W power ceiling that cuts core clock speeds and compute output roughly in half compared to desktop specifications.
A standard desktop Radeon RX 9060 XT LP operates with a 140W board power rating. ASUS caps the entire XG Core unit at 75W. Because the power budget includes the dock circuitry alongside the graphics silicon, the card cannot run at standard desktop frequencies. This sharp power restriction trades raw graphics capability for reduced thermal output and quiet desktop operation.
ASUS technical sheets confirm the real world cost of this wattage cut. In the official overclock profile, the internal GPU reaches a boost clock of 1620 MHz. By comparison, a standard Radeon RX 9060 XT LP pushes clock frequencies to 3040 MHz. Peak INT4 compute drops at a similar rate, falling from 800 TOPs on standard models down to 406.3 TOPs inside the XG Core enclosure.
