Casio CRW 002 Ring Watch Shrinks Classic A168 Timepiece

Casio has released the CRW 002, shrinking its classic A168 digital watch design down to a wearable finger ring. The non smart wearable keeps core timepiece functions including a stopwatch, an auto calendar, and an LED backlight without adding fitness sensors. The series launches in Japan priced at 19800 yen (roughly $130 USD) for the silver finish and 22000 yen (roughly $147 USD) for the gold edition.

Casio produces the watch cases via metal injection molding to reproduce the detailed lines of the original full size watch at miniature scale. The lineup includes 2 color options. The silver model carries reference CRW 002D 1AJR, while the gold edition CRW 002G 9AJR adds an ion plated finish. The entire unit measures 25.2 by 18.2 by 6.2 millimeters and weighs 15 grams. The case handles minor water exposure, though Casio does not assign an official ingress protection rating.

The digital display shows standard time, an auto calendar, and a 1/100 second stopwatch with a 60 minute cap. A white LED backlight illuminates the screen and triggers an hourly visual alert called Time Flash. Timekeeping accuracy sits within plus or minus 30 seconds per month. A replaceable battery powers the device for approximately 2 years of daily use.

The default ring size matches Japanese size 22, offering a 20 millimeter inner diameter and a 62.8 millimeter circumference. Casio bundles 2 sizing spacers in the box to reduce the internal diameter to 19 millimeters or 18 millimeters for smaller fingers. The silver CRW 002D 1AJR sells for 19800 yen (around $130 USD), while the gold CRW 002G 9AJR costs 22000 yen (around $147 USD).
