Huawei is preparing to launch a new sub brand named OSTA, according to retail packaging leaks. The debut device will arrive as the OSTA O1 Pro, a wide format flat screen phone targeting the budget performance market. Industry insiders indicate the lineup will focus primarily on online retail channels with competitive pricing.
Details from Digital Chat Station show the OSTA O1 Pro uses a 6.39 inch flat 1.5K LTPS display. The screen features a wide 16:9.5 aspect ratio with symmetrical borders measuring just 1.05 millimeters. Prototype units feature an oval camera island alongside a distinct purple power button. A companion report from Fixed Focus Digital notes that Huawei is also testing a standard OSTA O1 model, which swaps the flat panel for a quad curved screen and a circular camera layout.
Buyers will have access to 3 color finishes including starry black, nebula white, and starlight purple. Huawei plans 4 distinct memory and storage configurations for the device. These include 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB with 512GB storage, 16GB with 512GB storage, and a top tier 16GB RAM model paired with 1TB of local storage.
Public regulatory records confirm that Huawei secured the Chinese Xingmang trademark several years ago before submitting new documentation to cover smartphones and processors under the name. The OSTA branding now serves as the official English identity printed on retail boxes. While commercial launches do not always follow trademark filings, production leaks indicate this project is actively moving toward public release.
