Hygon has introduced the 14XX series processor at the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, marking its first edge computing chip engineered for industrial control systems. The silicon integrates C86 processing cores with low 10W power consumption and operates in harsh conditions ranging from minus 40 to plus 105 degrees Celsius. Hygon plans to support the hardware with a guaranteed 10 year supply lifecycle for continuous manufacturing deployments.
The 14XX series combines C86 processor cores, onboard cache, and an integrated graphics processor on 1 piece of silicon. The memory controller supports both DDR4 and DDR5 formats to fit diverse equipment boards. System connectivity provides 10 PCIe Gen4 lanes, multiple serial communication ports, and dual video output pipelines using DisplayPort and HDMI standards. The hardware is certified for non stop 24/7 operation across industrial settings requiring uninterrupted uptime.
Thermal design power drops to 10W, allowing fanless chassis designs in sealed factory environments. Hardware security includes native virtualization, a Trusted Execution Environment, Secure Boot, and cryptographic hardware engines for SM2, SM3, and SM4 algorithms. For industrial software integration, the platform includes development kits, real time operating system support, and native drivers for standard automation protocols including EtherCAT, Modbus, MQTT, and OPC UA. Target applications cover process automation, embedded instruments, and industrial connected devices.
