OnePlus has officially revealed the Buds Pro 4 wireless earbuds, introducing an upgraded dual driver sound system created in partnership with Dynaudio. The hardware pairs an 11 mm woofer with a 6 mm planar tweeter alongside active noise cancellation that isolates 2 times more background sound than previous models. The brand confirmed Titanium Shadow and Polar White finishes, while pricing and launch schedules remain unannounced.
The internal acoustic architecture comes from a partnership with Dynaudio. Each earbud contains 2 independent drivers. An 11 mm dynamic driver produces low frequencies, while a 6 mm planar driver handles high frequencies. Each driver runs through a separate digital to analog converter so signals process independently. This split setup delivers 50% stronger bass output compared to the Buds Pro 3.
Audio transmission relies on the LHDC 5.0 codec, supporting up to 24 bit at 192 kHz with transfer rates reaching 1 Mbps. Spatial audio includes real time head tracking. The Golden Sound software scans ear canal structure to match equalizer curves to individual hearing profiles.
Active noise cancellation cuts out 2 times more ambient sound than the older model. Algorithms adjust cancellation strength automatically based on surrounding noise levels. Voice pickup relies on 3 microphones and 1 bone conduction sensor per earbud to register vocal vibrations. The AI Clear Call system isolates spoken words, reducing background speech 2.5 times more effectively than the earlier generation.
Software options include real time speech translation and direct Google Gemini access using the Hey Google voice command. Dual device pairing allows instant audio switching between a laptop and a smartphone. Gaming mode drops wireless latency down to 39 ms on supported OnePlus phones.
Battery runtime shifts depending on codec choice and active noise cancellation. Playing standard AAC audio with noise cancellation turned off yields up to 13 hours on the earbuds and 53 hours with the charging case. Turning noise cancellation on reduces playback to 6 hours on the buds and 26 hours total.
High resolution LHDC consumes battery faster. With noise cancellation off, the earbuds run for 10 hours alone and 42 hours with the case. Running LHDC with noise cancellation active lowers playback to 5.5 hours on the buds and 22 hours through the case. The hardware carries an IP55 rating for water and dust protection.
