OnePlus published a finalized deployment timeline for its Android 17 based ColorOS 17 software update across older and current hardware. The refreshed operating system package delivers revised system animations, interface adjustments, and localized machine learning tools. The initial wave covers premium devices throughout November, while older hardware receives the build in early 2027.
Following initial releases on the OnePlus 15, 15R, 13, 13s, and the Pad 4 tablet, the deployment expands to previous generations. The OnePlus 13R gets the software on November 5. The OnePlus 12 receives it on November 17, followed by the Pad 3 on November 18. The foldable OnePlus Open begins receiving the installation on November 24, while the Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 wrap up the monthly cycle on November 26.
December targets an expanded group of legacy and midrange hardware. This phase includes the OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus 12R, including the specialized Genshin Impact edition. Midtier handsets slated for December include the Nord 5, Nord CE 5, and Nord CE 6 Lite, alongside the Pad 2 and Pad Go 2 tablets. Older models such as the Nord 4 and the Pad Lite must wait until the first quarter of 2027 to receive their downloads.
ColorOS 17 operates on the Android 17 codebase, bringing smoother interface animations and faster system response times. Software adjustments vary by device, meaning certain artificial intelligence capabilities will stay exclusive to newer processors. OnePlus confirmed that users on global OxygenOS builds retain the option to decline switching to ColorOS. Regional rollout occurs in batches, meaning device arrival times will vary depending on carrier certification and geographic location.
